Riyad al-Asaad, commander of the CIA backed Free Syrian Army (FSA), announced on Saturday that Syria's main rebel group is moving its command centre from the Turkish border into Syria itself in preparation for an attack on Damascus.

The CIA has been funneling weapons to the FSA for several weeks now in preparation for the assault by way of intermediaries including Syria's Muslim Brotherhood and is providing detailed intelligence regarding Syrian army positions and troop movements.

One extremely unpredictable element in this equation is whether Iran, Syria's closest ally will intervene to defend Damascus.

The Denver Post reports that background checks for people wanting to buy guns in Colorado spiked by more than 41 percent since the Aurora, Colo., movie theater shooting that left 12 people dead and dozens more injured.
